HPG Series Planetary gears

The HPG Series Planetary Gears are available in six sizes with twelve gear ratios between 3 and 50:1 offering repeatable peak torques from 4 to 2200 Nm. The precision output bearing with high tilting rigidity enables the direct introduction of high payloads without further support and ran thus permits simple and space saving designs.

HPG Series Planetary Gears are available in three versions for the output: with output flange, with smooth output shaft and output shaft with keyway with. On the input side there is a version for motor adaptation, or alternatively it is available with input shaft. Standard servomotors can be simply coupled to our Planetary Gears. Gear and motor together form a compact and lightweight system capable of withstanding high payloads ensuring stable machine properties with short cycle times are guaranteed.

HPN Series Planetary gears


The HPN Series Planetary Gears are available in five sizes with thirteen gear ratios between 3 and 50:1 offering repeated peak torque from 9 to 752 Nm with a backlash of just 5 to 7 arcmin, this gear series is ideal for low backlash applications. The outstanding price to performance ratio offers a precision gear solution where low backlash and cost represent a combined value.

Getting started with Harmonic Drive® Precision

HPN Series is built around a helical gearing concept. It exhibits very smooth running and is extremely quiet. To support your application load, the gears are provided with two widely spaced bearings on the output side. The gears are available with standard flanges for various motor types. Based on a combination of high torque capacity and low backlash, HPN Planetary Gears offer a compact solution for your application. Standard servomotors can be simply coupled to the lifetime lubricated gears. With the introduction of the new HPN Series of precision gears we extend our portfolio to supply additional customer cost benefits.

CSG Series Unit Type (Standard Structure Unit, Standard Structure Lightweight Unit)


The CSG series unit type HarmonicDrive® for high load capacity is outfitted with high stiffness bearings (cross roller bearings). It has approximately 30% more torque capacity than the CSF series.

It has better takt time, saves space and is more cost efficient.


In addition to the conventional standard products, the development of the lightweight type makes the CSF series even more complete. With a newly designed shape and its use of lightweight material, it's about 30% lighter than the standard products. The CSF series without question makes machinery and equipment lighter. Because of its light weight, when it's used with industrial robots, it will make them faster and grants them greater load capacity.

HPF Series Unit Type (Hollow Structure Unit)


The HarmonicPlanetary® HPG series gear head type is a planetary speed reducer for servomotors featuring high accuracy and high stiffness.

Planetary speed reducers with high levels of accuracy and stiffness created by making the most of HarmonicDrive® precision manufacturing technology and expertise in the field of low-speed reduction. Equipped with a unique backlash removal mechanism, it delivers a high level of rotational accuracy.

Featuring the excellent performance and characteristics inherited from the HPG series, a new gearbox has been created with the advantage of a new hollow shaft structure. The input and output shafts are coaxial resulting in a compact design, enabling the versatile needs of the customers to be achieved such as allowing piping, wiring or even a laser beam to pass through the unit or to drive a ball screw.

The HarmonicPlanetary® HPG series gear head type is a planetary speed reducer for servomotors featuring high accuracy and high stiffness.

Planetary speed reducers with high levels of accuracy and stiffness created by making the most of HarmonicDrive® precision manufacturing technology and expertise in the field of low-speed reduction. Equipped with a unique backlash removal mechanism, it delivers a high level of rotational accuracy.

It was developed as a high-performance, easy-to-handle gear head for servo motors and is the perfect technology for customer-specific needs.

New helical gear design with characteristics of the highly reliable HPG Series

Integer full speed ratios from low-speed reduction 3 to 10 have been added to new HarmonicPlanetary® HPG Series models with a helical gear.


A helical gear is also used for the thin flexible gear, which achieves high reliability with extremely low backlash degradation. The characteristics of the helical gear contribute to achieve quieter operation and higher torque capacity (approx. 30% higher compared to conventional designs) and deliver reduction ratios optimal for designing various machines and equipment.
